KYC

Know Your Customer

KYC (Know Your Customer) is the identity verification every investor must complete before investing in mutual funds in India. It records your PAN, address, photograph and signature with a KYC Registration Agency, and is shared across fund houses — so you complete it once, not per Asset Management Company. It can be done in person or online through video verification. If your status reads 'on hold' or 'registered' rather than 'validated', some transactions may be rejected until you re-submit documents. Check your status before starting a new investment.
