No-dues certificate
A no-dues certificate is the document a lender issues confirming your loan is fully repaid and nothing further is owed. Collect it the moment you close a loan, along with your original property papers, a lien release where one was registered, and the lender's confirmation to the credit bureau. None of this happens automatically. A loan left showing as open on your credit report will drag your CIBIL score and can hold up your next application, and reconstructing the paperwork years later is far harder than asking for it on the day you close.
